An oasis of life it was, clear as the sky Ever lingered in my dazed eyes

No other desire did I have but to bathe in it For I missed it more than any other

A sweet memory from days of yore.

But as I approached the oasis

It faded with a horrible scream of wind Never to be seen again.

Had I lost my beloved once more?

Bright sun ablaze in my heart, my Eurydice.

My grief so great and deep

Never shall I love a soul again!

My harp silent and still

The mark of fidelity, I swear

Die shall I, alone yet untainted

And embrace we will once more in Hades.
