Gollum, Gollum!

By David Taehee Lee

Born I was in the Shire
Yet not consumed by ire
Loved by family and friend
Yet not the horrid fiend

The Ring it came
I rightfully claim
Leaving Deagol dead
And the family in dread

Confined I was for half a millenium
Lived with so terrible an odium!
I was mocked crazy insane
But hear me out, life is a bane!

All had left me but alone
The chill ran through my bone
The Misty Mountains ashen cold
Ages grown far beyond old

Was taken away by solitude
Was scarred deep by lone crude
Stripped of clean skin and fair hairs
Stripped of warmth and all blisses

Nothing I had
Save for

My Precious!

We has been thieved!
We has been mocked!
By cold-blooded men
And cruel world forsaken.

Smeagol the name
Was cast away
And I was gifted
Gollum untainted

The hatred and loneliness
Subdued by ages in darkness
The lust for avenging my wart
Marred by hurt deep a heart

But all was endurable
But all was forgivable
For the ring I still have
And give me a merry jive!

Then thunder stroke
Ancient fear awoke
I was faced grave plight
Nasty thief in the night

My precious!

What’s in his pocketses?
Nasty little Bagginses!
We has been tricked!
We has been robbed!

Bites it!
Curses it!
Crushes it!
We hates it forever!

And this pitiful life
Caught by the Livid Eye
Tortured to brink of death
Unleashed with all its wrath

Shire!
Baggins!

Patience, my precious
For we shall be victorious!
We shall have revenge furious
And we shall claim the precious!

Gollum, Gollum!
